Can anyone help please? I need to find better seats for my F78 Independent as the standard ones aggravate my sciatica. Does anyone know of any I might find in a scrap yard, i.e old corsa or does anyone have experience of after market type such as Corbeau etc. Thanks

I prefer the peugeot seats from the larger models, massive comfort and considerable padding for off road work.
You will need the subframes so they adjust properly, and you will need to manufacture some form of mounting to replace the height to that of the Daihatsu seat. It is reasonably straightforward if yoy have basic fabrication skills, if not there are many who will fabricate them for you.

Thank you for your reply. I'd not thought of Peugoet and come to think of it my friends 307 is quite comfy. Might I ask which model you are suggesting please? I have a neighbour who would probably do a bit of fabricating for a bottle (or two) of rum!

Any of the larger models will suffice, mine are from an older 406 model. Find what suits you and simply measure them up for a comparison with your existing seats.

has nice comfortable seats, totally agree on that, I have used sierra one in me trak, re welded of course to fit, another one had old granada seats in, what is it about fords having such versatile parts lol

Hi.
We use "Gell" filled wheelchair cushions, but a bugger on a frosty morning, as the Gell solidifies and needs a warm bum to mould it to shape, brillaint though.

Gel cushion suggestion
Thanks very much for your answer. I've looked into these and although they look like they will substantially improve the comfort, my problem stems from the seat length in my Fourtrak. I don't get enough support as the seat length is about 3 inches shy and this is what aggravates my sciatica. Cheers

Ive used ford seats before now and im sure there a close match to the fourtrak seat frame,the one that gives the height.bucket seats are a tight fit,or the ones i had were but are brilliant over the standards.I welded mine on.

I've been peering in Fords in car parks trying not to bring attention to myself and thought the ones in the Fiesta looked like a possibility. It's the seat length I'm worried about as it's the lack of this in my Fourtrak that brings on my sciatica. What model did you get yours from please? Thank you for your interest.
