So, what else do you drive besides a Daihatsu??

Forum:

It's on the firm, which means the only choice we galley slaves have is what's cheapest or comes with the most backhanders to them, but I also drive an '01 Ford Mundeo 2.0 LXTD. Don't believe the hype - They're woeful.

A tad more noisey, and harder to park than the Sportrak....Better on a run, tho!

Apart from driving a

Apart from driving a Daihatsu YRV turbo everyday. I also drive at weekends a Subaru Impreza STi. Big difference in power etc...

What Do I Drive

Personal vehicles, Nissan Terrano, Daihatsu F20, Various Fourtraks, and many tractors.

Company vehicles, BMW 335, or Toyota Avensis 2.2 diesel T Spirit, occasionally a Mercedes SLK, Saab 9-5, Isuzu crew cab pick up, company vans various.

Most new supercars imported to the UK which do in excess of 175MPH, purely for testing to ensure they meet the relevent UK specifications, great being one of only 7 UK drivers qualified at speeds in excess of 200MPH, i get to drive them before they are launched.

Lifes a bitch sometimes.

Fiestas

I hope nobody drives a Fiesta, who in their right mind would drive a vehicle named after a packet of condoms.

For the youngsters, and uninitiated; Durex Fiesta were, years ago; a multipack of condoms, each pack contained 12 condoms of differing colours.

Those who remember them are showing their age, but it bought you phenomonal street cred if you bought a box and your mates (no pun intended) were with you.

what else do you drive

Before I get thrown off site I'd just like to add to Assassins comment on Fiesta condoms loads of street cred, until mum and dad wanted to borrow my Ford Zodiac to take on holiday because I hadnt finished fitting engine to dads car(Vauxhall victor)guess I'm showing age now, mum cleaned inside, wasnt too happy finding packet of fiesta in glove box.Very uncomfortable getting disapproving type looks and mum type sighs for weeks afterwards.Difference is in those days at 18 years old we still respected parents views (as well as having both of them at one address) didnt we?Right here we go,I am an anti social sort of animal because I drive a Sportrak riviera 4x4 ahhh! a Volvo 460 only because "her indoors"reckons riding in Sporty is like riding to hell on a hedgehog (bloody womans a snob)and for my past sins I drive a Scania 580 artic to pay nearly enough taxes to pay our "governments" personal expense account.I now get thrown off site because I am at present rebuilding a Series 3 Land rover AAAH!With a 2.5 turbo its got the carbon foot print of a yeti.Every one reckons I am having mid life crisis. With a shake of the head as only wives can do, mine reckons I've been having one for the last 30 years (very tolerant woman)I know she is cos she keeps telling me so.Right folks thats it for now now going to wire tow hitch on Sporty.Do it properly this time.Keep shiny side up. After reading that, I'm wondering if your wife & mine are the same person...... or is it just a "woman thing"??

'93 Fourtrak 2.8TDL

Answer mousjoos

Must be a "woman thing"(bless em)one things for sure I'm not gonna get many blessings when mine gets back from town.I thought I was being helpful washed a load of greasy coveralls and tee shirts.Never did get used to the idea of checking what has been left in washing machine.Cant say that I've seen tea towels this colour before.Still make good hand wipes whilst working on vehicles oops!

WHAT ELSE DO YOU DRIVE

Not a FIESTA! Haven't had a Ford since a V4 Corsair in the 70's which I sold for my first Mini.

We have 2 Sportraks for day to day use. My wife loves them and has just brought a Landy Series 3 County, ex army girl. I have a long term love of Mini's so have two just to look at and drive when I am bored plus an Audi A6 for long journeys back to UK and holidays. With no road tax in France and one No claims bonus applied to all the cars why not? I am just scrapping a Riley Elf which has gone too far to save, which is sad. I restore Mini's as a hobby as well as maintaining all but the Audi

Just got rid of a P plate

Just got rid of a P plate Mondeo Estate Giha X. It had done 260000 miles (ex taxi) and still ran quite well. Though the 2ltr was a bit disapointing after an SRi Cavalier. Good car. Changed my mind about how crap Ford are.

At the mo though the other car is the other halfs car, a Mitsubishi Delica, old shape. Proper forward control. 7 seats and 4X4 in a very short truck. All Pajero underneath, with a Mitsi van body converted to People carriour on top. Very comfy truck. Thirsty as hell with a 3 speed auto + overdrive though. Grey import. 14 year old with 75000 on the clock (K's up till 68000 when it was converted to miles). Not a spot of rust, and through 3 MOT's with no work. Would recomend to anyone (who does few miles, or very deep pockets for the fuel bill).

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.
