1990 sportrak ELl

Forum:

Hi, can anyone advise ! I have not had my Sportrak for long, I got it for my wife ,but she finds it very bumpy, it has the electric adjustable shockers which do not seem to alter on the setting Unknw and the tyres are 195 X 15 Cama Terra 4 x 4.
It has passed the M.O.T, with advise of slight play in d/s rear shocker, which could be the knock we get on bumpy roads !
I have seen an advert for adjustable rear shockers, and have been told wider and softer non off road tyres might help . Or are they all just a very bumpy ride Unknw
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks Des

Bumpy ride

I find that even with the Soft setting, I can feel all the bumps and jolts in the road.

I have currently got 225/70 R15 road tyres.

Early next year, I am planning to fit all new gas shocks, which should improve the ride and also the off road handling.

Explorer UK sell them for £35 each - www.explorerprocomp.co.uk

bumpy sporty

Hi there, I use my sporty off road and as a result of getting stuck one day I had to remove my anti roll bar but didnt put it back on and I now find it handles much better on road and is smoother too but it needs to be put back on for the MOT.

I dont recomend putting wider tyres on cos mine had wide tyres on when I got it and it bounced all over the place so I put on 195/75r15 tyres and it is quite well behaved even with the anti roll bar on.

Just so you know that if you have an accident in a car with the anti roll bar removed your insurance is probably invalid (but it does work much better without it).

If in doubt give it a CLOUT!!
If it won't fit you are not hitting it hard enough!!
Hit it harder than you thought you needed to!!
