Leaking back door!

Bit of a problem with my M Reg Independent, whenever it rains the back door leaks and end of with a water in my boot, nut a huge amount but more than enough.

Have looked and often find drips of water on underside of the top of the rear door.

Any ideas on what could be the problem and to how i could sort it, the weatherseal seems intact.

Any help much appricated!!!

Hmm didn't think of that, may try sticking the spare in the back for couple of days, see if it makes any difference!

Do you have the cromy plastic bit screwed on above the door tightly? Does it have a rubber bit under it?

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

Here is your solution. Mine did as well. Check your hinge wear. You will probably be surprised how much they are worn. I took the wheel off the door, and mounted it on a swing away spare wheel carrier. You can then tweak the door hinges to close the gap at the top. Also check the V shaped guide above the door lock. This may need adjusting as well. You can also buy the self adhesive foam or rubber seal for draught sealing around doors and windows. Take note of where the original door seal touches the door, and apply the draught seal around here. Your door seal will now touch the draught seal, sealing the gap.
