Vehicle duty after budget

Forum:

Am I correct in thinking that any Fourtrack registered before 2001 is unaffected by the huge increase in road tax in the budget Unknw

ie New rate of tax will be £180

dont worry about it mate.

dont worry about it mate. ive had a good look about at it and it seems that anything registered AFTER april 2007 will be affected by the increase of duty.

they do say 'gas guzzlers' will be charged up to £400, but im not sure if this is registered by engine size or co2 output. they do make some examples of a X5 or a Range Rover.

i think my little 1.6 sportrak is safe Biggrin

the bands are measured by co2 output. put it this way, the X5 BMW is in the higher band, just. and thats a 3.0 diesel!

As usual full of double talk and pocket picking. I think you are ok as it only affect those things with huge engines like Range Rovers and the like.

I live in France where the dammed tax was abolished some years ago so we all go FREE and our MOT is the same price but covers 2 years....VIVE la Difference.

Seriously though it just affects the GAS guzzlers and isn't only 4x4 it's all huge engined cars. The odd thing, well not really knowing Brown but the tax was abolished for the cars with a very low co2 emission...lower than any currently produced I am informed...it that not typical?

Get out before it sinks I say or goes to a Muslim state. Sorry if that offends anyone as I would be the first to say that there are good and bad in every place and before anyone says it I AM NOT RACIST, homophobic, against women, anti religeon. I just have one life and wish to enjoy it without interference or positive descrimination which is as bad as any form of dicrimination, perhaps worse.
