Wanna be Fourtrack (Rocky) owner. What to look for!

Forum:

Hi everyone I'm new to this great site. I would love to buy a Rocky (we're in New Zealand) but need to know what to look for. The one I like the look of has fulltime 4wd drive on the side of it in the picture,(haven't seen it for real yet). It is a 1991 1600cc manual 4x4. We want to use it for towing a trailer with a couple of motorbikes on it and just to cruise up the beach fishing. Would this suit our needs OK? Any hints, tips or general info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My daughter has got a Rocky

My daughter has got a Rocky 2.8 TD, you should at least look out for any RUST, the suspension is non-existent in fact i would have to say it is a very uncomforatble ride, the only motor i have been a pasenger in where you have to hold the grab handles, LOL.

On the plus side, it does what it was made for without any problem at all, ours pulls a horse box with two horses in with no trouble at all !.

hi ashton

rust, rust, rust mainly rear end over wheel arches but as its single skin rip the insides out and plate it from there

suspension thats what grab handles are for it aint that bad can still drive, drink coffee, make a fag and still wave at the local police anyway thats what steering wheels are for

as for model 2.8 turbo derv with big tyres and loads of lights, loud sounds good for pulling anything mine did 500 plus miles with my car trailer and pug 605 on it at a steady 70 mph and didnt blink up hill down dale but has got the areodyamics properties of a house brick

does what it says on the tin

buy one have fun
