I know theres alot of confusion out there concerning 4WD and that most people belive when 4WD is engaged all the wheels turn at the same time but they dont!
on my dads mitsubushi l200 there as switch which reads RD lock i prsume this locks the rear diff wheels to turn at the same time? or does it lock all wheels to turn at the same time? is there any way of doing this to my Fourtrak 2.8 TDX?
if so prices?
thankyou.

as far as i know our fourtraks have no differential between front and rear wheels so thus making the 4 wheels turn together unlike some of the more modern jeeps which have a diff.that is why you get wind up if u are on tarmac and not on gravel or mud letting the wheels spin. this is correct i think but i'll let some of the more experienced on here confirm it. cheers bill

I WAS ALWAY OF THE BELIEF THAT ONE WHEEL ACTUALLY DROVE ON EACH DIFF. HOWEVER I DO TAKE YOUR POINT ON DIFF LOCK BUT I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE DIFFS. AS FAR AS I AM AWARE THE REAR DOES HAVE A DIFF AS DOES THE FRONT SO PERHAPS SOME ONE ELSE CAN GIVE A VIEW ON THIS TO CLARIFY.,
