PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THE PROBLEM WITH MY 1997 HIJET.
we have just fixed the head gasket on our hijet it does start and sounds good but it does not continue to run so we wondered if the computer needs resetting as the engine management light stays on.many thanks ladyluck.
to reset you take the
to reset you take the battery cable out for 10secs and it will be reseted

re:head gasket
why did you change the head gasket? was there evidence that it had blown? was there water in the oil or oil in the water or was the water and oil been blown out of the engine? the reason I ask is I have a hijet which does the same thing as yours but I'm not convince that its the head gasket. The sympton I have is similar to the petrol running out but the pump is working ok (efi). I see a few of these little vans been sold on ebay where head gasket were change and the problem is still there. does the brake works ok? I'm no expert since I cant get mine running but if the light is on its either the water or air sensor is faulty. I found if I unplug on of them the light stays on.

hi, I had a blown head gasket and my mechanic suggested that I had to replaced it with a new one. after the said replacement, I had no more problems,.. anyways, good luck with yours and hope it would be fixed.
