Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me. My wife has a Sirion 1.3 Speed 2001 model. But recently we have started to smell petrol\furel in the car. 
It's getting real bad. I had a look under the bonnet and could not see anything obvious? The strange thing is it only happens on some days!
Has anyone got any suggestions please.

The fuel pump for these cars
The fuel pump for these cars actually sits inside of the tank itself, as opposed to on the engine. You gain access to this pump by removing the bottom-half of the back seat and then removing a few screws/bolts, and then it lifts out of the tank.
My guess is that seal for this could be broken and maybe that's why you're getting the smell inside of the car. You can have a look at it and see. The back seat comes out very easily; put your hand under the front, left edge of the back seat and lift upwards until it unclips. Do the same thing for the right side. It will then just lift right out. You'll see a circular thing on the floor of the car with a few wires going to it; that's it.
