k&n or filter on a fourtrack

hi guys was just wondering if u know anything abt putting a K&N or some sort of filter on fourtracks... i got a 2.8 turbo intercooled TDX... and someone said it would let the turbo spin up faster giving it more power in the turbo range, but would loose some low end torque??? also someone said the turbo needs some pressure from the standard air intake system to spin against, wich the filter would not provide, so the turbo wouldnt spool up and down right???
i dont really know.. am i looking too far into it??

From what I remember a few years ago someone was going to try a K&N on a Fourtrak but never heard anymore about it. From my personal experience of trying a K&N cone filter on one of my previous vehicles, a Mitsubishi Pajero TD. It did become sluggish. I ended up having to source a performance filer which fitted the standard air intake system.
