Sill replacememt

No one apart from Daihatsu supplies them, too my knowledge, a couple of years ago I encountered the same problem; phoning around all my trade contacts and suppliers yielded no results. Finally I made a set, the old ones were removed, and everything was cleaned back to good clean metal, the newly made sills were fitted.

To prevent a reoccurence of the problem, an access hole was drilled into the sill, and it was sprayed with industrial galvanising spray, this was continually sprayed in to ensure a good coating.
Finally; a good dose of waxoyl was sprayed into the sills, and the hole was filled with a rubber bung, the outer metal was also sprayed with galvanising spray. To finish the outer, a coat of stone chip was applied, several coats of industrial paint, and once dry, several coats of underseal were applied.

Ok thanks, Sounds good. Did you fabricate form scratch or use a doner sill?
