Does anyone know the safe limit for the exsisting chassis mount or should I go for a full width towbar that would bolt directly onto the chassis rails. What is the towing limit for the truck

I would definitley go for the full towing bracket..then its the chassis thats taking all the load.
The towing capacity of your vehicle is 3000 kg for a braked trailer..thats 3 whole tons...4tracks make amazing tow trucks !!!!

I'll echo this one. Go for the proper chassis-mounted bracket and a decent towbar. Its a bit more expensive but a LWB fourtrack is rated to tow 3.5 tonnes, what's the point of fitting a lower capacity hitch?
Mine does a fair bit of towing work, and also occasionally pulls cars and vans out of ditches and muddy patches at festivals. No problems!
