COLD STARTING
Waht year is the car? With the damp mornings it could be that the leads are showing signs of breaking down due to the ingssion of dampness through their insulation.
The Orange light, if is the once shaped like an engine then this indicate a Engine management problem which could be indicative of your problem. I did a diagnotics check list some month backon this forum bur I am a bit bemused wy it should come on with the immobilsor which if switched to off will kill the engine and all your warning lights will come on.
You will probably need t be more expicit in detailing the symptoms to see if they are linked

cold staring
Normally the light indicates a fault that has been identified by the EMU. The book says you should stop the car and consult a dealership. I am still at a loss on the imobilisor. Is the car running fine and then this light coming on when you switch on the imobilisor and staying on . I assume when you switch it on the car is imobilised. When the car is running with the imobilisor switched off are all the lights out and the car running normal? If yes then the imobilisor is preventing the car from being switched on as it should but the light should only come on when the ign. key is turned on . Cranking the engine will not start it until the imobilisor is switched off.
As for the slow running, innitially the car will be a bit sluggish from cold as it is on a richer mixture, once it warms then it should run ok.

cold start
hello thanks . i have sorted the light problem and hope fully the cold start prob .the sensor at the back of distributor was diconected ,the light goes out now on start up . as for cold start i will see when i next start in the morning .
Re cold starting
I have found with my Sportrak that just briefly turning the key when cold can mean that it starts but then generally stalls and is difficult to restart. If I hold the key for around half to a full second after it is running, then it never (crossed fingers!) stalls and seems to run smoothly from cold.
Maybe just how mine is, but it may help with your problem.
cold starting
started fine this morning
well happy
