I am quite new to the site and this is the first time I have used or contributed to the forum, so Hi everyone!! What I would like to know is if there is any difference in the ratios of the newer gearboxes to the older one. I have been told there is and as I have a newer one lying about, it would seem to be an easy swap to make, when I replace the clutch in the near future. My vehicle is a 1990 Sportrak.

Not an expert on the Sporti, so don't take this as gospal. However I'm fairly certain that they are all the same ratio. The FOURTRAK has about 4 diffrant transfur ratio's. However the Sporti and 4trak boxes are not interchaingable (again I belive).
Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

TA MUCHLY FOR THE INFORMATION. THINK WE WILL BE PUTTING IN THE OTHER BOX ANYWAY AS IT COME FROM A NEWER SPORTI THAT HASN'T BEEN TO THE MOON AND BACK TWICE SINCE LAST SATURDAY. SORRY I DIDN'T GET BACK QUICKER BUT MY COMPUTER IS LIKE ME KNACKERED.
