If you look at the front of the brake drums you will see 2 threaded holes.Release the handbrake place two threaded metric bolts into the threaded holes and screw them in "at equal lengh" This will draw the drum off the brake shoes & hub easy

Slacken ---- plus rust!
You must fully slacken the handbrake cable. I mean ... fully! The handbrake cable holds the shoes against the drums and the drum will have a 'lip' so the drum will not come away. The drum also rusts onto the hub. Put plenty of WD40 into any gaps ... nuts etc ... and leave to soak for 24hrs.
When refitting smear copper grease between drum and hb .. helps prevent rusting. Tighten the shoes by racheting up,down,up,down,up the handbrake. The handbrake is the rear shoe adjuster. Then adjust the handbrake cable.
Why Adjust the Cable?
If you want to be really picky You can adjust the rear shoes through a small hole to the rear of the brake drum back plate to fully off position. The handbrake cable does not need touching to remove a drum just make sure its fully off.Handbrake cables are only adjusted because its easer to adjust than the brake shoes.A lip on a rear drum is only present on ultra high mileage Fourtraks wheel holds a drum onto the hub it does not need a lip as standard Mace sort this site out its an utter ball ache to post anything
