Hi everyone
Only joined 10/12/07 and can see there is a lot of good info on the site. I have owned one of these vans before it was a honda acty van then before daihatsu took it on. What a lot of fun in a little van, its great around the town and being 1300cc is'nt slow either. I am fitting some extras to mine such as electric windows, alarm with remote start and central locking to make a start, its just good fun thinking what you can add on for really little money and make the vehicle so much better. I have fitted an above the head shelf which the radio and switches for extra lighting in the back are fitted, hope to post some pics if anyone's interested, at least if someone looks through the window they think it has no radio fitted but its above there heads out of site.

Hey Camon,
I have the same model as yours. Would like to see what you've done. You can see my van in the gallery. Wouldn't mind some advice on the alarm you installed and how to fit it, particularly the wiring of it. I also put in lights which are pictured in the modifications section.

hi jet van
Hello, have posted a pic of overhead shelf am very pleased the way it works accept when you go over road humps then mind your head but for normal driving there's plenty of room to spare.
Alarm system only arrived yesterday along with the c/locking kit wife and daughter bought me for chrimbo she wont let me have them yet. Still she is working christmas eve so means she will sleep next day- who knows might even start on christmas day, if nothing on the tv worth watching. Will let you know how i go anyhow, fingers crossed dont look to bad only about 25 wires to connect in lots of various places might even get it finished in time for next christmas bfn camon
stereo and alarm wiring
Yes, I thought that job looked really cool. I like how you have the switches and the light there, but I assume you don't have a sunroof then?
Road humps can be compensated for by re-adjusting your driving posture. I tend to tilt my seat-back down slightly so that I am positioned more like a race car driver. More of a wannabe racecar slouch posture. In the Hi-Jet, the tendency is to lean forward while driving, but by leaning back and extending your arms, your head isn't up so high, thereby preventing any bumps on the cranium.
Thanks, would be interested to see how you do the alarm. All those wires are confusing.
Pop a few more photos on. Would like to see what you've done with the place.
