Hey there, not sure im in the right area as this is my first post.
Im looking at buying a 1984 Charade G11 Turbo, but it needs a new piston, i was wondering how easy/hard it would be to replace the piston and also im finding it quite difficult to source one, does anybody know where i can get one??? It seems a really nice motor and the guy is asking £450, not really sure if its worth that or how much they fetch in good condition lol......

Finding a piston - Rocking horse sh*t, hens teeth all spring to mind.
Personally i would not buy a Charade G11.
Why not buy the tons better 87-93 G100 GTti version, very reliable and miles quicker too!!

Are they really that hard to get hold of??? I heard that the G11 was quicker coz the G100 Weighs more?

There will be some G11 owners out there with engine spares in the shed etc... but matching seller to buyer is another matter.
The only way a G11 would be quicker than the G100 is if its got the G100's CB80 engine in it

One has to ask HOW it got a
One has to ask HOW it got a holed piston...then what kind of state the rest of the engine is in.
Being a turbo with a holed piston sort of indicates a fuel feed problem, which may also hold a question over the ECU/injection control.
I could be wrong but would advise the use of a very long bargepole before putting even 400p towards the purchase.
