Shut my electrical boot on my copen the other day and it jammed with nothing in it.I have taken the problem to a daihatsu garage and they are unable to fix the problem claiming that they have never seen a problem of this type and it is a serious problem that will need a daihatsu specialist technician to look at it which will take a good few months.In the meantime im going to have a car with two seats,a jammed boot and a roof that cant convert.Any help would be great!

Sound like your dealer is not very interested!
This will have occured somewhere before, so I would contact Daihatsu customer support on 0121-747-4000 (if you are in the UK) and ask for some advice.
I have spoken to a Phil Camwell? before and he was helpful with an out of warranty issue.
Looking from another angle, similar types of folding metal roofs are used by Peuguots and Renaults, drop by your nearest garage and ask if they have experience with similar problems!
