Gearox oil change

Forum:

Hello,
Im planning to change my gearbox oil today and i have a few queries.
Firstly could someone just confirm the location of the drain plug, i believe i have located the filler plug. Also is it a must that i change transfer oil box also because im changing the gearbox oil? If anyone can provide a picture of the drain plug it would be greatly appreciated. Finally, with it being winter is it worth using an sort of upgraded oil i suppose?
Many thanks.

Gearbox oil drain.

What vehicle.

Assuming a Sportrak or like both the drainage and filler cap are 24mm, so don't undo any others. The top up is on the passenger side toward the front of the box and is accesible from thee engine compartment. The drainer is further down . Use the recommended gear oil and yes whilst you have the plates off you may wish to change the transfer box oil at the same time again 24mm sockets.
