I've lost the ignition and driver door keys to my 1997 Cuore and have no spares. I have a passenger door key which enables me to get inside. The Daihatsu dealership has quoted £450, possibly £900 to install a new lock set which bearing in mind I only paid £900 for the car 3 years ago is to much to shell out. Have I got any other options or am I going to have to scrap the car and buy a new one?
Cheers!

Remove the door panel, once you can access the lock clean it and locate the lock number stamped on it, take this to your main dealer and they should be able to cut you a new key from the number.
Daihatsu are one of only a couple of manufacturers to do this, problems may arise if you have a factory fitted immobiliser, the new key will need reprogramming to the anti-theft system.
From my mum previously
From my mum previously owning a 1997 Cuore, I think it is going to have the Daihatsu factory fitted immobiliser. From what people have posted in the past, the £450 appears to be the price they charge for the reprogramming the theft system.
