Assuming it is a Fourtrak the drain is on the bottom of the diff, and the filler is about halfway up the rear face of the diff.
Mosy likely places for leaks is the copper "o" rings on the filler or drain plugs, the input shaft oil seal, or the back cover gasket.
To replace the input shaft oil seal - remove the rear propshaft at the drive flange, hang it out of the way, under the propshaft, recessed in the drive flange is a nut, using a socket, remove this. Pull the input drive flange out, this is on splines, the seal will be visible, pull it out and replace.
Filler and drain plug copper washers need the plugs removing and simply replace the washers and refill with oil.
To replace the gasket, remove all bolts from the rear cover, clean thoroughly and smear the both sides of the gasket with blue hermatite, stick onto one of the faces and refit the rear cover.
OOPS
Forgot to mention; if the vehicle is pointing downhill it is the input shaft oil seal, a common problem.
