Forum:
Good evening all,
I have recently bought a '95 Timberline Sportrack on ebay and whilst it has not been plain sailing (new transfer box already fitted) I am enjoying the overall ownership experience.
I do have a few queries which i don't doubt have already been answered on other forums but for ease i will put them together here.
1. How is the reverisng light held in place? Mine is very loose but i can't see any fittings on the back of the lamp.
2. If i replace the stereo will i need an iso connector for a newish stereo? The current machine seems to be a Daihatsu branded Clarion cassette player but it needs modernising. Also where have people put a multichanger?
3.Speaker upgrades. No fancy installation wanted but general speaker replacement advice would be welcome.
4. Hubs (possibly the most popular forum topic) My query is more about hub caps as on my 5 spoke alloys the hub caps are in a disgraceful condition. Do they unscrew?Lever off? i'd like to refurb them or even replace them.
5.(finally) Anybody know where i can get a manual from? Photocopy would be fine but pref a proper book.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Is the revurse light the in
Is the revurse light the in the bumper type? If so there are two little bolt heads on the bottom of the bumper bellow the light. Undoing these will alow the light and it's mounting bracket to come out of the bumper.
You should be able to get an adapter for your new strio, but it's not a masive undertaking if you have to do it with crimps.
You can get CD-ROM manuals from LuRcH, who runs this site.
Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

Thanks for your help.
I have bought an iso adaptor so all i need now is a new headunit (minidisc if anybody knows for one) and i'll get some speakers from a carboot tomorrow.
I will double check the reversing light. It is in the bumper so i think i may be missing the bolts as the only thing holding it in is the bracket and the lead.
Thanks Steve
Thought i would post
Thought i would post picture of the wheels as it may help with my hub query.
Thanks
Steve

Made me smile.
Nothing to do with my original post but my good lady and i went to the cinema today (Hancock, good performances, ok story) and when we came out i found i was parked next to a YRV who in turn was parked next to a Terios, my Sportrak made it 3 in a row. Don't expect that happens too often.
Made me smile anyway...........:-)
My Sportrack is driving nicely now after a bit more expense in a new exhaust and after fitting a new stereo a loose wire has temporarily silenced it but despite a few niggles it is fun to drive on my rural route to work.
