Potential To Tune a YRV Turbo

Forum:

I am looking at getting a YRV Turbo very soon.
I have got a Peugeot 306 Dturbo which will match the performance of the YRV Turbo in its standard form.

So I will be looking into modifying it.
What have others done to theirs.
I was thinking of a Blitz NUR Spec Exhaust, Twin Piston Dump Valve, Lowering 35mm, and strutbrace.

Can the turbo be manually adjusted or can a electronic controller be bought.

What is the highest boost the turbo will run safely and what power figures have be seen from this car.

Hello, At the moment I

Hello,

At the moment I have the following modifications on my YRV Turbo:

- Front D-Sport Strutbrace
- Blitz SUS Cone Filter

Other external mods include:

- Climair Wind deflectors
- Side and bumper side mouldings

To be added next month:

- Tein lowering kit (30MM Front - 35MM back)
- Blitz Nur Spec R Exhaust
- New alloys with 195 tyres

As for tuning, then this is somewhere I'm afraid I too have asked on here before now, and no one can tune these in this country. Cray 2

If you know I'd sure like to know.

Good luck with your purchase. Wink

Something wrong with your car then matey, no stock 306 diesel gets to 60 in 8 seconds!

The induction and exhaust will make it sound better, but wont make it go faster.

You need to get a tuner who will remap your cars ECU to alter the boost - the highest boost figures are the ones available just before the engine goes pop! Smile

The stock JDM version of the YRV turbo gets 140 bhp by being mapped to run on 99 octane fuel, so that and a 20% increase in turbo boost would be a significant increase in performance.

http://www.bigperformance.co.uk/ is a legend in Smart circles, he doesn't list the YRV turbo, but he remaps literally hundreds of models of car and van - it would be worthwhile dropping him a line.

If you get a price from him, let us all know, he may get my custom too! Wink
