Speakers
I assume you are talking about the panel retaining clips. These being plastic can break if you are heavy handed. I get my fingers beeathe on corner and gently pull. Move you hand to the next clip and pull, and so on till the panel comes off. Any clips remaining in the body of the car can be pushed out from behind and reinserted into the trim. Check that where you are placing the speaker has sufficient clearance to allow for the cone and magnet to be accommodated without touching the outer wing and that there are no sharp objects that could pierce the cone. Leave the polythene membrane intack as this stops water from soaking into the door panel or your peaker. Replacement is the reverse being sure to clip each clip into it's hole rather than a good thump. Remember the wigt of the speaker, if lege will need to be supported while this re=placement is being done to prevent the board from bending and breaking the clips. If you have to remove in the futre leave the pspeaker area till last to avoid the same.
When cutting the hole leave the cloth intact by cutting a cross in the cloth almoct to the edge of the hole. This allows the cloth to be pushed back into the hole for a neater finish. Securing the speakers to the panel is usually done using spring clips that van be mounted beneath the clth directly onto the hardboard.

Use the existing rear speaker pods, Alpine do a range of speakers which fit straight into these, wiring should be there on most models and it is a simple case of ferreting for it. Connections will have to be made at the radio end, simply find the common earth, and using the coloured wires will identify which is the live feed to each side.
Alpine's range is competitive, both in quality and price, and the supplying dealer will most likely supply an adapter plug for most common radio/cd makes on the market, it is a case of plug and play.
What size rear speakers?
I am interested too in doing the same thing? Although I am not sure what size speakers will slot in? 6.5 inch, 5 1/4inch, 4 inch etc. Which fits in best? I have a 2003 terios.
Alpine
Alpine custom fit are designed to fit into the existing apertures on these vehicles, they use the correct speaker mounting holes, as the originals would have done.
