Does any one know if it is possible to get extended torsion bars, i know its possible to get them for other cars but what about a sportrak?

just thought i would add, i know you can simply just adjust the bars, but this unfortunately weakens them and everyone i talk to advises not to do this

Torsion bars
Hi Harry
do you mean uprated torsion bars? the only reason to uprate a spring is to carry extra weight, a lot of lift kits offer uprated springs as a method of gaining ride height but the downside of this is that you need more weight to compress the spring and it is already designed to carry more weight at the standard ride height of your car so your car rides higher and firmer with less suspension travel. By adjusting the anchor for your standard torsion bar you are not adding any extra weight or stress to the bar so you retain the standard ride but add ride height. Unless you drastically increase the weight of the car you arn't going to need uprated bars.
