Hi All,

PS Does anyone have one they would like to sell?

Mark, Be careful of the gutter type roof racks and bars that only mount at front and back of each gutter. They can stress the gutter if overloaded. This may cause the sealant between the two panels that make the gutter to split, allowing moisture to enter, and allowing rust to start between the panels. Better to modify the rack so there is one long length of steel shaped to follow contour of gutter along the full length of the gutter. This will spread the load over the full length, and lessen the likelyhood of this type of damage. Also be wary of how much weight you put up top, for this reason, as well as raising the centre of gravity.
Cheers

Roof rack
Thanks for the advise I had considered the c.o.g but not the point loads do you have one fitted to yours?
No, I dont use roof racks unl
No, I dont use roof racks unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. My cargo area is set up with a full size rear shelf, and cargo barrier. I have fitted enough gear in for four people on a four week holiday to remote area. Tight, but its possible. I think on that trip I did have a pair of roof bars on, but only to carry one spare tyre (no rim). I have seen way too many 4wds with damaged roof gutters from overloaded roof racks and corregations.
Cheers
