Daihatsu Sirion car fob battery

Forum:

My fob seems to have packed up this evening, presumably it's easy enough to peel the things apart and put a new battery in but I thought I had better ask first?

The car is three years old and you can bet your bottom dollar the fob battery has never been changed.

Changing mine on my YRV turbo

Changing mine on my YRV turbo keyfob shortly on checking this has a 2016 lithium battery. Bought a couple off E-bay for 99p. Worth a go at that price.

Key fob recode

I posted this last year -

These were the instructions given to me for my 2001 YRV - and they worked. Probably the same for your car, but don't blame me if it doesn't work for you!!!!

"If code is lost if battery not replaced within 10 seconds -

Momentarily disconnect main car battery. Aim keyfob and press both buttons (Lock & Unlock) together. Doors will lock and fob is recoded".

Remember that your radio may also be coded and you'd have to reset that if it is.
