Team Metalrallykhar - Mongol Rally 2010 - Ready for the Off

Forum:

Hello again one and all,

This will probably be one of the last posts on your site before we hit the road in just over one week! Scary times!

We have pretty much got our little Terios up to scratch and ready to hit the road. Still got lights to wire in and some protective plating to fit to the bottom of the car for fuel tank protection, but other than that, we're set and raring to go.

Massive thanks to those of you that have donated and sponsored us, It is very very kind of you and much appreciated.

We hope you continue to follow our progress and travels on the road via our website: www.metalrallykhar.com

Until we return, kindest regards

Wulf

Best Wishes .

Best of luck with taking that puddle jumper to the middle of nowhere.

Keep us posted, and let us know how you have done when it all over, even if you do not make it all the way .

May the Diety of little 4x4's look kindly on her, and your self.

Lack of support

Hi all 4x4 users.

Here we have a group with little or no offroad or 4x4 experience, and when they leave the black top, and there is very few and poorly maintained ,if any black top east of Moscow, heading for Outer Mongolia. Using probably crap fuel and using local mechanics for assistance, who never have seen a Diahatsu Terios, or even heard of one. taking a truck, just a puddle jumper, not what would one call a real offroader, and other folks are taking even less suitable vehicles, to the back of beyond, to a place most of you would never heard of.

My gripe is the seeminly lack of support and interest, by the majority of 4x4 people on this website. I thought lots of you 4x4 peaple would get behind this outfit, taking a Terios to Outer Mongolia, so it's not a Fourtrak or Sportrak, just a soft roader. And here's all you folk saying what you have done to improve you trucks performance, did you offer any assistance/ advice/suggestions to them.

Noted a very small number of people gave advice/suggestions on the wheel situation. Looking at the financial aspect, seems very, very few people donated, I accept finacialy many peoples situation is not great, but surely a little could have been given to either the truck preparation/running cost or the charity.

Just so suprised at the lack of interest by 4x4 users of the site. I have no conection with the party in this venture accept for a donation to the trucks costs and the supported charity.

all flack and flame taken.
