ive read the hub how its works so to confirm
to lock i just select 4h 4l and drive .
to deselect i select 2h and reverse for 10 metres or so.
ill do the service to them tomorrow as well thanks

They only engage through relative motion, as the front axle shaft begins to rotate it operates against the spring which engages tham.

thanks assasin i took of the front wheels today and if you look on the photo the alloys have front and rear hub covers / caps screwed on i took them of to paint under archs and its a manual hub and they were set to free .
the person i bought of insisted it was auto hub and i thought it was as well, so i bet he never had it in four wheel drive.

Possibly was auto hub originally, these would most likely be changed at some time for manuals.
