Forum:
I have a Daihatsu 2.8TD engine fitted in my Series 2 Landy (I know its cheating, but landy engines just aren't up to much!) My fuel pump is leaking from the front shaft seal behind the pump pulley. I made the mistake of taking it apart thinking it would be fairly straight forward to rebuild with new seals but all the inners have fallen out and I haven't got any idea how to put it back together! There doesn't seem to be any detailed drawings in the daihatsu manuals for the pump.
I've found another pump in a scrap yard but its on a non-turbo engine. Although it looks the same as mine, the numbers are different. Does anyone know if it might fit my turbo engine?
Thanks
No it won't, its fuel
No it won't, its fuel delivery is different, and so are itsemissions settings.
Take your vehicle to an injection specialist who will recondition it for you for reasonable costs. It will then be as good as new, and fully warranted.
Rebuild guide
I stumbled upon a Bosch VE injection pump 'head block' rebuild guide on the internet.
