Do you know what is actually wrong with the gearbox/diff? I say this because if you are able to get it fixed by someone who rebuilds gearboxes it may well be cheaper, easier and quicker than replacing it. I say this because I have experienced the same problem with my R4, I looked high and low for one and nothing came up for ages, I contacted daihatsu and for a front diff they wanted (I hope you're sitting down!!)
