95 fourtrack F73 Alarm/Immobiliser

Forum:

My F73 (which was my daily driver and only transport) is fitted with an Alarm/Immobiliser, although I've never been given any form of Zapper/Fob, its not bothered my until now. For reasons unknown, the alarm starting to go off and the immobiliser has set. With no way of turning it off, my car is stuck. I thought the easiest thing to look at would be to remove it or bypass it, but without a decent wiring diagram (my copy of a workshop manual relates to F70/F75 and F77 models) I dont know where to start.

Has anyone in here attempted this, can any pointer be offered, does anyone have a correct wiring diagram they can email me?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I disconnected the battery - for no other reason than to stop the hazzards going off (I'd already disconnected the alarm unit) - and after visiting a local garage for free advice, was going to bypass the system via the fuel pump. After poking around under the bonnet looking for any obvious signs of an after market installation and some wire splicing near to the stop solenoid, I reconnected the battery to start checking for the live feed and the poxy system had either re-set itself, or i'd found something loose without realizing as it was cured.

Thanks anyway

OK ..... it reset

Reset itself ..... I think the solution was in my email message. Keep your spanners in the vehicle, you will need them late one night!;)

Toggle switch.

Check under the bottom edge of the dash board, each side of the steering wheel. Some had a toggle switch to set an alarm and no fob. Possible switched it with your knee when you got out.
I have known two diahatsu sitting in garages for days whilst mechanics tried to discovery why the diahatsu were immobilised. The owners got the huge bills due to all the dismantling. They had run the cars for a couple of years and never realised the alarm was on a toggle switch. Finally their knee had hit the switch! Wink

Check your mail box. Smile Let me know if it sorted the immobiliser.
