Green lanes

Hi all, I'm very keen on taking my Sportrak off road. Does anybody have any suggestions for good green lane drives around the UK?

is to purchase the total off road magazine as they put roadbooks for greenlanes in all the mags every month.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Join a local 4x4 club, they will have details of off road play sites, lanes that are not under TRO etc..Also get Landranger OS maps, lanes are marked on there, but may be closed or under TRO.
Dont go on your own unless you have a winch - you could literally be there all night.
make sure you abide by general green lanes code of practice - dont spees, work gates properly, dont go "off piste", have respect for other users of the lane.
Get a CB radio for in car contact when laning.
Make sure you have suitable recovery gear and appropriate recovery points on the car. I have shackles, straps, tree strap, snatch block and front and rear winches.
Be aware that lanes will be shut very soon for winter.
