daihatsu coure key snapped in lock

hi, wondered if anyone can help me, i have only one key for my car and the key has snapped halfway down and is stuck in the lock, I can open the car. if i manage to get the broken bit out is it possible to have a new key made using the 2 parts and if not where can i get a new key from, a dealer Unknw and if so does anyone know roughly how much it would cost, i appreciate any help!!!!!

Could try a proper locksmith who may be able to fashion a key if you manage to get the other half out, depends if you have an immobiliser chip on your key too which may mean a dealer job although there are specialists who supply keys and code them for you. If you have the key number written down somewhere this may help the process too.
