Forum:
Hello,
My indicator lights stopped flashing this morning and would stay lit rather than flash. Shortly aftwarwards the indicators then failed completely so now won't illuminate at all when flipping signal control arm up/down.
The hazard lights still work perfectly, so I guess it may not be the relay.
The other lights operated using the same indicator control arm also still function.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
There might be a separate
There might be a separate flasher unit for the indicators which would explain why the hazards still work. I doubt if it's the stalk as I'm guessing both sides are not working. When a bulb fails the rest flash twice as quick, but I wonder what happens if more than one fail? Might be worth checking all of the bulbs, but I reckon it's the flasher unit.
Have a look where the flasher unit is located and give them a knock whilst the indicators are activated. My van does this all the time, and when I kick the underneath of the dash they start flashing again. If the flasher unit is jammed in the off position = no lights.

Solved
I am now standing the corner of the room wearing a dunce cap.
Walloping the dashboard whilst driving has proved very effective in the past and probably worked in this instance too but I was verifying this occurrence when stopped in a car park.
The hazards flashing but the indicators remaining unlit could very well [ahem] be linked to be me not switching the ignition to "on" when checking them out.
I was pulling fuses out and dismantling the relay too...
At least you solved it.
At least you solved it. Please post a pic of you wearing you dunce in the images section.
