After oil change keep getting oil leak at sump plug, noticed 3 indentations equally spaced at 120 degrees around sump drain hole which is letting oil leak by plug and copper washer. Is this indentation normal and is a special washer required, any info/assistance appreciated.

I've had 2 engine leak from the sump plug, but its been the thread on the sump bung both times. Could this be your problem?

The three indentations are where the insert is located prior to ultrasinically welding it in. It is unlikely it is leaking here and it is usually the sump washer which is at fault.

my f78 spotting oil at mo. dipstick me thought i had a new washer. turned old one round and refitted. my sump has indentations also. fingers crossed your sump threads not damaged.
