hi, i was driving my sportrak about an hour ago, changed gear and nothing happened. no gears. dip clutch engage gear, clutch out, no movement. prior to driving i had tried to engage 4low, but couldn't find it. the 4 wheel symbol was on the dash,but i didn't know if i was in 4 low or 4 high.now i cannot get the 4 wd gear lever to move at all. it is stuck solid. a friend had a look at it, nothing. he suggested taking the inspection cover off and having a look that way, which i have done. nothing. cannot move it. lift it , push it, tap it, nothing. i have lifted the gaiter off the lever, and poured some oil in there, but still it will not work. the thing starts, clutch works, normal gears seem to engage, but no movement.ithink that maybe the 4 low has not been used for a very long time. has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone have any ideas. i'm new to this forum, so i hope someone out there can help. thanks

sounds like its stuck between gears, what were you doing at the time? ie were you just driving along a normal road or off road?
does sound like transfer box
does sound like transfer box problem - did you try to change to 4wd while moving?
can you move the truck? (Push it or tow it) May be able to use this to free it up

my one changes from 2wd to 4wd high whilst moving at any speed....

You have a neutral position
You have a neutral position on the transfer case, have you got it in neutral on the transfer case.
Depending on model, you have a gate, have you moved it correctly as some go sideways before going into 2L.
If it is in neutral in the transfer case all the normal gears will work, but the neutral position means you will go nowhere.
