sportrak f300 heating problem

Hi i have just bought a sportrak and am well pleased with it but the only problem is the heater doesnt work any ideas Unknw fan works but just blows cold ! thanks darren

Possibility that the heater has been disconnected. Heater matrix usually leaks on older sporty and replacements are costly from garage or time consuming if diy. There are two pipes passing through the balkhead into the heater. If these pipes have been cut and a bi-pass fitted then I assume the heater matrix has been shorted out. The two pipes are found low down and left hand side of the engine.

there is a thread on this allready, my sporty had blew the matrix and i did as described above---till the first cold day of winter!

thanks mace for that have checked and pipes have been cut !! so may have to try and find replacement not looking forward to job but bloody cold !! thanks for your advice darren.

Replacement matrix.

Go to a local 'motor rads' - use yellow pages. Get a matrix reconstructed rather than buy expensive replacement. If your Sporty has the knackered matrix then motor rads will re-core and restore it at reasonable cost. Good as a new matrix. Takes a few days but much cheaper [

Be cautious of ebay. I recollect previous posters who were buying parts but never saw the goods. Check the past messages if you can search them out.
Try motor rads IMHO.
