Allriite guys im a newbie with a sportrak, i havent had much look with ot at the moment, The gearbox was gone when i got it! so replaced the box and on my first outing with it the engine went BANG!!
Not good so far!
well iv changed the engine yesterday but one magor prob, there was a humming whistleing noise started and i thought nothing of it!
but now there is a load same kind of noise comming from the gearbox area but it does it even when out of gear or clutch in!!
any help would be much appreciated!

Maybe the thrust bearing is still touching and spinning at high speed on the pressure plate??

...it's the gearbox input shaft bearing(s)? Just had that problem with another vehicle, and the noise only quietened down when the clutch was depressed, but it still whined a bit due to fractional drag...
i dont no whats happened but

well it all seems good but it will prob happen again, i have an old gearbox for it and i think il send it away 2 get recond!!

Hi,
When you fitted the new engine did you check the spigot shaft bearing in the crankshaft? This supports the gearbox input shaft at the flywheel and if it's missing or worn will make the gearbox noisey under load.

when we replaced the engine we changed the clutch ect!
my local machanic thinks it may be a bearing inside the gearbox?
but its still noisy when rolling and out of gear???
