Does anybody know if my sirion is still in warranty as it has been serviced outside of the daihatsu network i have the vat receipts and book has been stamped all done by previous owner i was hoping it was under warranty to sort steering knocking problem out .If it is under warranty do i phone a number or take it to local dealer what is best i bought the car from a private dealer, and i thought that the local daihatsu dealer might not be too helpfull due to it not being bought from their showroom.

Probably worth a call to your local Daihatsu Dealer/Service & Parts to ask them. I seem to recall that EU rulling came in to say that you don't have to use a Dealership/Manufacturers servicing to keep a warranty. Worth a search on google on that one. Failling that maybe wirth calling Daihatsu HQ up if the local dealer won't oblige. Worth a shot

Seems like a good idea to give them a ring with it being steering it should be a safety issue . does anybody know where to get the number from as the daihatsu website only seems to deal with sales.

Thanks for the help guys i will offer for them to service the car at the same time that should make it a bit more appealing to the dealership.

If UK then your still under warranty....although i bet Daihatsu will try to wriggle out of it like they did the "Engine / pinking noise" issue we had.
We all now know it is the belt tensioner that they could not hear and strangely enough they did have a recall on some early YRV's for incorrectly tensioned belts....but not ours???
You can take it to any dealership for warranty claims although they can vary in enthusiasm
