Hey guys,
My name is Edgar and im having a slight problem with the drum brakes in the rear. I tryed to pass my mot but the rear passenger side brake was a bit weaker and so the mot dude didnt pass my car. After a good clean and maintance it worked nice on the jacks. But as soon as i started driving the passenger side rear brake stop working at all. After a inspection me and my good friend discovered that the automatic regulator dont work. Does anyone had a similar problem or now what to do?
many thanks from the east side of Europe,
Edgar
check for a "lip" on the drum
check for a "lip" on the drum edge, if there is one it needs to be removed so when you manualy adjust the shoes that you can only just get the drum over, that way the park brake effort is applied to the whole surface at the earliest time, hope that made sense, kirk.
Did you remove the rubber
Did you remove the rubber bungs and adjust the brakes through the hole?
This way you can manually turn the adjusters with the truck jacked off the ground, and get the brakes balanced
cheers
