Fault Code Scanner for New Model Terios

Forum:

hi - may son has a 2007 1.5 terios.

i'm looking for a fault code scanner but cannot find any product relating specifically to the terios.

Q: is the new terios "OBD2" or "CAN" protocol? - any info much appreciated.

Its KWP2000 (OBD2 ISO14230)

Its KWP2000 (OBD2 ISO14230) loads to choose from on ebay.

The Launch Creader V should do the job and at around £50 (ebay) is a good bit of kit.

You could always ask any seller what is right but prepare to hear "a Dai-what?" Smile

daihatsudave - many thanks for that info - just ordered one.
also i forgot to ask this:
as mentioned my son has the new shape 1.5 terios with the 3SZ-VE engine - in the owners manual/service books it refers to a timing belt however any research i've done refers to a timing chain on that engine - any knowledge on this? - cheers

Dont know much about the

Dont know much about the Terios to be honest but its engine does have a chain...its a Toyota design and basicaly the same as the 1.3's (2sz-fe) with a bigger piston stroke making it 1.5 for a bit more power.
I'm sure some of the Terios members will know alot more and respond soon.

let us know how you get on with the Creader V. It has alot more functions than most readers. Remember to try to update online...it will tell you if its genuine or a copy Wink
