Forum:
Right so,
I went and bought a N/A F70 with manual locking hubs for spares for my Turbo Diesel F70 Auto hub.... I know IDIOT. Anyway turns out the N/A only has 80k from new and the clutch gearbox etc are all perfect but the body is shot. My TD body is perfect so here is my issue,
1.How straight forward is it to change the N/A engine, gearbox, transfer box over to the turbo body. Both are 1991 SWB models.
2. Will I have to change the hubs. I would prefer to use the manuals but I don't think I can swap them over without serious modification.
Has anyone done this change? Is it madness?
All help gratefully received.
Cheers,
Shane
Engine swap
hi I've no idea about your engine swap but I'd Like to know if ya can sucessfully turbo a non turbo fourtrack without any internals having to be changed
It's a 2.8 1995
How do ya find the model no f ??
Sorry for hijacking your question best of luck with your swap
everything swops
right, dont fit an na engine if you have tdi, youll regret it, clutches gearboxes, there all swoppable, the gearbox on the na is lower ratio so better for off road usage, the hubs axles on all leaf spring vehicles are swoppable, fitting manual hubs is the best thing u can doo, i have a spare na f70 which i have canobilsed to keep my tdi f70 going, basically everything fits.
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Cheers for the reply, I might
Cheers for the reply,
I might just change over the gearbox/transfer box and clutch and keep the turbo engine. What will I notice different from driving with the N/A gearbox. I use it for towing a horsebox so low end grunt is always handy.
Can someone please finally put this issue to bed for me,
What do I need to change the hubs from the Auto to the Manual ones. I really don't have the time to take it apart to have to go buy parts and waste more time.
Anyway thanks again I really want to get my Trak back on and off the road,
