Wondered could anyone help me. I bought a Daihatsu Cuore 1.0 last year with a years MOT from a secondhand dealer(probably a dodgy MOT). I was just checking the car over for its next MOT and realised the lambda sensor after the downpipe bend has its cables (all 4) cut off. For what reason, I'm not sure. But it explains why I'm only achieving around 37MPG as I can only manage 250 miles on a tank.
So I bought a new one online, Only trouble is I couldn't find where the socket which I need to plugs into. I found a unplugged socket under the fuse box but It's a different socket and there doesn't seem to be 4 wires going into it.
There might also be a chance the plug is just a universal one and I would need to rewire it. But Because the original is not present, I don't know.

Normally there's a plug on a short flex attached to the lambda sensor. This then plugs into another plug which forms part of the cars wiring loom and the plug would be under the bonnet, NOT in the fuse box. Have a good look round under the bonnet to see if the plug is tucked away somewhere, near to where the lambda sensor is, unless the idiots cut off the loom plug, in which case you need to find four wires in the vicinity of the sensor. ALSO does the engine management light come on when you turn on the ignition? If not, I bet they pulled the bulb out as I would imagine having the Lambda disconnected would put the Engine Management light on. Let us know what you find...........

I been looking under the bonnet for the whole day before I posted. It's quite frustrating that something so simple cannot be found. There's a fuse box by the battery (this is all under the bonnet) and below it is a wiring loom with a unplugged socket, that's the only unplugged socket I can find. It's a round one, Looking inside it I can't make out does it have 4 connectors as it's funny shaped.
No management light either. I was thinking of visiting a secondhand dealer where they got a cuore nearby and have a peek under the bonnet.
I think that is your best
I think that is your best bet, find out what you are looking for. Also check the engine light on the other one too. This unpluugged socket, can you see how many wires come out the back of it?

It has one wire about 2mm - 2.5mm thick, so not sure could there be 4 wires inside or not, But it seems to be a bit far from the Lambda sensor as it's near the battery. Last thing I want is it failing the MOT over emissions.
Doesn't sound like the lambda
Doesn't sound like the lambda plug to me then. If you can't find the plug you need to look at another Cuore to compare them.
