In Aus our equivalent to the UK Sportak is badged Rocky.
Enquiring whether anyone has had any experience with this motor and turbo combination. I cannot maintain head gasket integrity with the gasket delaminating after 3000Ks from time of replacement. The vehicle has had a new head fitted and a straight edge is not indicating that the block face is warped. Head bolts have been torqued to specification on assembly and retightened after 500Ks of running.
Aussie contacts are communicating that the head bolts may be stretching. Has anyone experienced this phenomena and what was done to address the problem. The ARP Catalog where these items are sourced from for high spec vehicle engines dont list a replacement for the DL motor.
Ive had no experience with the DLT series motor that is fitted standard with a factory turbo. The same Part Number head gasket is used in both the normally aspirated DL motor and the turbo DLT motor. I am seeing used DLT motors advertised with blown head gaskets, is this the norm?
Appreciate if anyone can offer some advice and their experiences.
dont know anything specific
dont know anything specific about your engine but with a lot of engines that i work on its standard practice to measure the lenght of headbolts and replace if they are too long, in fact some headsets come with them to start with, hope you cure the problem, regards, kirk
