Forum:
Had my Fourtrak F75 for 8yrs now. First 6 were relatively problem free. But the last couple of years have been costly.
It's had virtually every part replaced, including in the last 6 months all of the above. The last caliper has been on for 3 days!
It went in for its MOT today and has failed on 10 rust holes under sills, near seat belt anchorage on every side, floor, wheel arches etc.
Shall I just give up?
My mechanic doesn't do welding but he still thinks it's worth getting the work done because the rest of the vehicle is mechanically sound.
It's a K-reg.
I only use it at weekends for towing.
What sort of value would the car be if I sold it as an MOT failure? It's got 120k miles on the clock.
Thanks
Scrap value.

no way
sorry thats bull**** on ebay without mot's there making -300 - 400 quid, there wanted for off roaders, all the old decent 4x4's are making a fortune now for the hobby, especially suzuki sj's....welding a few holes for mot is not a big issue on an f75 and that 120k miles is barely run in, it just needs pehaps a bit more servicing, replacing brake/fuel lines is inevitable, its a K reg (1992) so they have lasted 19 years.........how many new cars out there have lasted 19 yrs?? and still going....
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

get a price from a scrappy to take it away, get a quote for the welding and have a look on ebay to see what others are going for and how much it would cost to replace with a solid one. bear in mind it may need more welding next year. then make your mind up.
our f reg fourtrak goes in on weds... touch wood it never needed welding , our h reg disco seems to need some every year.... ive been and bought a mig to do the easy bits.
the way i look at it it may cost a couple of hundred to get it welded... getting another old heap could easily cost a grand and may be in the same state next year
