hi guys
ive read a few posts but ive got conflicting ideas on which oils to use and the only service information i got with my f20 1.6 petrol was a photocopy of one page of tec info which only tells me how much oil the engine, gearbox,transfer box and axles take can someone give me a definitive answer on which grade of oil goes where and what part number a replacement oil filter is cause the motor factors ive been too are crap and nothing come up on there computers for it ive got less than a month to finish the rebuild so she can take part in a help for hereos fund raiser which is the whole reason ive rebuild her please help
The engine is a Toyota 12R
The engine is a Toyota 12R unit, and the oil is any 20/50 or 15/40 mineral oil, semi synthetic can be used, but not full synthetic.
In the gearbox, transfer case, and axles you use EP90, alternatively you can use EP 80/90 or 75/90. Any GL2 specification or higher will suffice.
One tip though, ensure you get the filler plugs out before the drain plugs. If you remove the drains, but cannot remove the fillers you are stuffed.
