rocky blown fuse or knackered/fried computer

well seems if you wont a job done right do it yourself !i gave a friend a simple task of hooking up battery after i re-fitted new starter motor and the muppet hooked it up the wrong way,we seen smoke coming from around general area and i raced over a wipped off the terminal but now iv got no power?the dash wont light up its just dead.
i checked the fuses,they fine,and it has power to starter,few things work like lights and turning signal works only with hazards on????
im lost can someone help?

Serious damage

Electronics will blow far quicker than a fuse.

I expect you've blown the alternator regulator, glow plug timer, and immobilser, etc.

There are some fusible links which may have blown instead of the fuses - these are near to the battery and fuel filter - think they look like wires, but I'm not sure.

I definitly think all the electronics will be shot.

Hi you will have only blown the fusible link on the positive terminal.If my memory is right they of a green coloured wire.It will look ok but check with a multi meter for continuity,Hope thi helps Mick
