Please can anyone advise exactly what "Front Brakes Imbalanced" means as this has failed on my MOT and the station are not too helpful as to the costs etc so I have brought my Fourtrak back home and hope I can sort this out myself

front brakes
front brakes imbalenced-simply-one wheel is breaking harder than other-cause-air in caliper, worn/uneven pads, worn/warped disk, sticky caliper, all very easy to put right.
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Bleed them
The most likely is air in the system. When was brake fluid previously replaced? Bleed the brakes and replace all the fluid following the correct method.

had a van fail 3 times the mot just lately front brake imbalance, i cleaned calipers, evened up the pads, bled n bled the system, nothing worked, changed set of discs .....hey presto, i took them off, and put them in a lathe one had some run out, compared to the other, it was also showing signs of blueing so excess heat, therefore.....wrong.

Air in one line will cause an
Air in one line will cause an imbalance as air compresses and brake fluid does not. If one line has air in it, this will compress and not give as much brake power to the caliper.
Wrong
You are wrong Assassin. The pressure equalises throughout the system. Pressure does not rise in the whole system until the air is compressed.
