Hello. I am a new member with a problem with my newly purchased Independant TDX.
Only had it three days. I drove it home (7 Miles) on the road and it was fine, love the car. took it into a field to try out the 4WD and that all worked fine. jumped into the car last night and drove 2 yards and heard a distinctive " clunk, clunk" everytime the drivers side front wheel moved. it didnt go away and I am concearned. can anbody shed any light on what may be the problem

it might be the front 4wd
it might be the front 4wd engagement hubs have not disengaged and so the cv joint is turning constantly but the cv joint is worn and knocking, is it worse when turning sharp??

Silly thought, but did you reverse the car to get out of 4x4 drive?
yes did put it in reverse and
yes did put it in reverse and it did disengage but still knocking periodiacally. it feels as thought something is loose. Im going to take it to my local Daihatsu dealer !
